Color blind justice

Here is something interesting to ponder. And then ask yourself who are the real racists in this country?

  1. I figure that you want comments, since you are posting publicly. If not, just let me know.

You wrote a post to be pondered, and I have. I pondered as my blood boiled :-), but I pondered. My blood boiled because, while there may be more crime, there are other issues involved. Pearson's Education survey reports that, while only 12% of whites fall below the poverty line, a quarter of African Americans and 20% of Hispanics are in poverty. On average, according to msnbc, African American households make $18,000 less than the typical white household and Hispanic households are almost 30,000 less. In addition, only 17% of African American adults and 12% of Hispanic adults hold college degrees.

Violence is never excusable, but it should not be implied that some races are more prone to it than others. We all came from the same beginning, we are all equal, and no one is better than the other. Knowing the evil in my own heart, I wonder if, but by the grace of God, I would resort to the same violence if I had been raised with the same poverty, hopelessness, and lack of access to quality education that many of these individuals face for generations.
